The Role
Reporting to the Campaign Manager, the Campaign Coordinator will support the coordination and delivery of Black Dog Institute’s peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
This role takes the lead in driving peer-to-peer fundraising events participation and retention to help achieve fundraising targets and revenue objectives.
The Campaign Coordinator works closely with various internal teams within Black Dog Institute, including; Fundraising, Corporate Partnerships, Supporter Engagement and Corporate Affairs - as well as with external agencies and suppliers.
This fundraising role drives revenue through high levels of customer service and stewardship of community fundraisers, including excellent inbound and outbound call handling, complaint handling, and responding to community fundraising and donor enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
A key element of this role is to inspire and support community fundraisers to achieve their best fundraising results for Black Dog and ensure fundraisers continue to interact with the Institute on a long-term basis.
Duties & Responsibilities
Campaign Delivery
• Assist Campaign Managers in the planning, execution and tracking of peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns
• Assist in the implementation of campaign plans including recruitment plans, fundraising and stewardship plans and donor journeys, for campaign participants.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of new national fundraising campaign website.
• Work with external suppliers to ensure a positive participant experience from pre to post campaign.
• Work with an external merchandise provider on ecommerce and the distribution of campaign incentives.
• Liaise and communicate with other internal stakeholders to ensure campaign support as needed.
• Work with the Data Insights team and Campaigns Managers to analyse the campaign against campaign targets, producing key learnings and recommendations.
Supporter Relationship Management
• Coordinate the participant support plan for the new national fundraising campaign, including the development of website FAQs, templated social media responses, and provide guidance to supporter relations team.
• Directly support and steward VIP fundraisers via email, phone and fulfilment of materials and collateral, continuing to grow income and participation by buidling a vibrant community of engaged fundraisers.
• Ensure excellence in customer service standards, responding in a timely, pro-active and helpful manner at all times.
• Undertake outbound calling for specific fundraising projects.
• In collaboration with the Campaign Manager and Supporter Engagement team, develop effective communications and stewardship strategies to (re-) engage supporters toward further financial support and fundraising.
• Collaborate with members of the Corporate Affairs team to execute the campaign multichannel marketing and communications plan, including direct marketing, and digital activities.
• Liaise with the Supporter Engagement team and external agencies to coordinate the planning and production of written and visual content for a variety of channels (e.g. eDM, social media, website)
• Work with members of the Marketing & Communications team and external PR agency to coordinate media releases, media opportunities and identify community spokespeople.
• Support in the development of campaign assets and collateral through coordinating photoshoots, BDI messaging and reviewing campaign materials.
• Work with Supporter Engagement team and external agencies to monitor, collate and report on insights from marketing activities throughout the campaign.
• Attend and present on behalf of Black Dog Institute at various VIP fundraising events around Australia.
CRM Database & Website
• Ensure accurate entry of fundraiser information and appropriate updating of records as required, including recording of conversation notes with fundraisers.
• Assist supporters with the creation of online fundraising pages via third party platforms.
General
• Working with other team members, play a role in continuous improvement in processes, to support Campaign and Community fundraising programs in the most cost effective manner.
• Undertake outbound calling for specific fundraising projects.
• Assist with coordination of and attendance at Black Dog Institute events.
• Continue to build upon knowledge of the non-for-profit sector and best-practice fundraising, as well as build sound knowledge of Institute research and programs.
• During peak campaign periods, this position may be required to supervise a team of casual staff to ensure effective delivery and support across campaign activities.
• Attend all team meetings as required.
Work, Health, and Safety
• Ensure self-compliance with all WHS legislation and BDI WHS Policy and Procedures.
• Report any WHS hazards and significant issues to Director, People & Culture or delegate.
• Work in a safe manner, applying a duty of care.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential Criteria
1. A minimum 2 years of work experience in online fundraising or marketing campaigns.
2. Proven skills in time management, organisation and prioritisation of competing deadlines.
3. Demonstrated experience in and understanding of diverse digital channels (including social media, SMS, website, eDMs) and their application within fundraising.
4. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, as well as the ability to build rapport quickly and sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
5. High degree of empathy and ability to always maintain a professional manner, including when dealing with difficult or sensitive enquiries.
6. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
7. Demonstrated computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, JIRA (or other similar project management tools) and intermediate Excel skills.
8. Ability to work well with others and demonstrate a positive and proactive attitude.
9. Alignment to BDI’s work, mission and values.
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience in the Not for Profit (NFP) or mental health sectors.
2. Event planning experience.
3. Experience with fundraising platforms and/or content management systems.
4. Experience with Customer Relationship Management software, preferably Raisers Edge.
5. Demonstrated account management with external events companies.
