The Role
Reporting to the Campaign Manager, the Campaign Coordinator supports the coordination and delivery of Black Dog Institute’s peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns. This role plays a vital part in achieving the campaign’s fundraising and participation targets, contributing to the strategic growth of unrestricted income for the Institute. Working closely with internal teams — including Fundraising, Corporate Partnerships, Supporter Engagement, and Corporate Affairs, as well as external agencies and suppliers, the Campaign Coordinator ensures the seamless delivery of campaign activities across all supporter touchpoints. A key focus of this position is to inspire, support, and retain community fundraisers, empowering them to achieve their fundraising goals and remain engaged with the Institute beyond the campaign period.
Duties & Responsibilities
Campaign Delivery
•Support the Campaign Manager with planning, delivery and tracking of peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.
• Assist with implementing recruitment, fundraising and stewardship activities to ensure a seamless participant experience.
• Coordinate campaign operations, including website updates, merchandise fulfilment and supplier management.
• Work collaboratively across internal teams and external agencies to align campaign activities and supporter touchpoints.
• Collaborate with the Supporter Engagement team, the Marketing and Communications directorate, and external digital agency on campaign marketing activities e.g. eDMs, social media, website updates etc.
• Manage owned social content for campaign Instagram channels, monitoring and responding to community engagement in collaboration with the Participant Support team.
• Contribute to campaign content and collateral, including coordinating photoshoots and reviewing creative materials.
• Work with Campaign Managers to monitor campaign performance, report on key supporter metrics, and identify learnings to inform future improvements.
Supporter Relationship Management
• Coordinate the participant support plan, including updating FAQs, templated responses and participant support material.
• Provide high quality stewardship and personalised support for VIP fundraisers via phone, email and events.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and proactive engagement to inspire continued fundraising participation.
• Support the development and implementation of stewardship strategies that encourage long-term supporter retention and growth.
• Attend and present on behalf of Black Dog Institute at various VIP fundraising events around Australia.
CRM Database
• Ensure accurate entry of fundraiser information and appropriate updating of records as required, including recording of conversation notes with fundraisers.
General
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance campaign delivery and supporter experience.
• During peak campaign periods, supervise seasonal staff to ensure effective delivery and supporter care.
• Support coordination of and attendance at Institute events as required.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice fundraising and the Institute’s research and programs.
• Participate in team meetings and cross department collaboration as required.
Work, Health, and Safety
• Ensure self-compliance with all WHS legislation and BDI WHS Policy and Procedures.
• Report any WHS hazards and significant issues to Director, People & Culture or delegate.
• Work in a safe manner, applying a duty of care.

Skills & Experience Required
Essential Criteria
1. A minimum 2 years of work experience in online fundraising or marketing campaigns.
2. Proven skills in time management, organisation and prioritisation of competing deadlines.
3. Demonstrated experience in and understanding of diverse digital channels (including social media, SMS, website, eDMs) and their application within fundraising.
4. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, as well as the ability to build rapport quickly and sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
5. High degree of empathy and ability to always maintain a professional manner, including when dealing with difficult or sensitive enquiries.
6. Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
7. Demonstrated computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, JIRA (or other similar project management tools) and intermediate Excel skills.
8. Ability to work well with others and demonstrate a positive and proactive attitude.
9. Alignment to BDI’s work, mission and values.
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience in the Not-for-Profit, health, or mental-health sector.
2. Experience collaborating with digital or creative agencies on campaign delivery.
3. Working knowledge of fundraising or campaign platforms e.g. Funraisin.
4. Ability to create and edit simple social content e.g. Canva, CapCut
